Learn moreEven if sustainability in hosting often plays a subordinate role for many customers, it is still important to us as a hoster to be transparent and to make it easier for our customers to decide on our hosting offer.
The topic of sustainability is important to us as punkt.de GmbH.
The topic of certification is also becoming increasingly important, e.g. ISO27001. You can find all the details about our hosting on this page.

We use data centers from the following providers to host our standard proServer products:
If you would like to know in which data center your application is located, please contact us at hosting@punkt.de.
For the individual infrastructure, the hosting is also determined individually. We are completely agnostic when it comes to hosting. If you have any requirements regarding the sustainability of your infrastructure, we will be happy to take them into account. It is best to contact us directly: hosting@punkt.de.
As a data center operator, we have high energy requirements. It is important to us to cover these requirements exclusively with renewable energies. Our data centers in Germany have been using electricity from hydropower since 2008. The data center park in Finland has been powered by hydropower since its construction in 2018.

Hetzner's data centers are an in-house development with a focus on particularly energy-efficient operation. They are optimized for cooling with outside air. The raised floor, the cold aisle containment and the pitched monopitch roof ensure that the air is automatically and specifically directed through the data center.
PUE measures the energy efficiency of data centers. The closer the value is to 1.0, the higher the efficiency. The PUE of our data centers is between 1.10 and 1.16.
WUE measures the water consumption in a data center. We only use air to cool our servers and do not require water cooling.
On the Hetzner website, you can view the performance in watts of our various servers in the respective product matrix under "Power consumption".
punkt.de GmbH will be happy to inform you about your server type, please contact us directly including your proServer ID (you will find this on your invoice).

Hetzner is not yet completely climate-neutral. Our electricity is sourced from 100% renewable energies - in Germany from hydropower. Compared to the German electricity mix, we reduce our CO₂ emissions in Germany by 77,000 tons of CO₂ per year.
We strive for the highest possible efficiency along the entire value chain. With an average PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) of 1.13, the operation of our data centers is extremely energy-efficient.
Hetzner extends the service life of our hardware with the server exchange.
Unnecessary components are removed and air flows are optimized for efficient cooling.
The life cycle of a server starts with the development of our own models and assembly in our hardware department. If older server models are terminated after use in the data center, they usually end up in our server exchange - tested, ready for use and inexpensive.
If the test reveals defects in the servers, they are repaired. If this is not possible, individual hardware is reused or recycled. In this way, we extend the service life of our servers to an average of eight years and conserve resources.

Plus.line uses a co-loaction space from Telehouse Deutschland GmbH, which is supplied with 100% green electricity from renewable energy sources.
Plus.line relies on a co-loaction space of Telehouse Deutschland GmbH, the data center in Frankfurt am Main is DIN EN ISO 50001:2018 certified.
The data center has a capacity of 3.6 megawatts of IT power and 4.5 megawatts of total power. Thanks to a design PUE that can be below 1.25 and 100% green energy, the data center achieves a top score for sustainability and energy efficiency.

We host via Plus.Line AG in a co-location space of Telehouse Deutschland GmbH in a data center in Frankfurt am Main.
Our electricity is 100% green and comes from certified hydropower plants in the region. Hosttech is "Green IT" certified.
We also use 100% green electricity for our offices.
For the most part with outside air, without additional cooling of the systems.
We use the exhaust air from our server systems to heat our offices and outbuildings!
